Our Story
On January 27, 2004, our 2-year old baby boy, Eric Carl Sjoblom, was
diagnosed with
Stage IV of Neuroblastoma. After a courageous three week fight, Eric
lost his battle and
passed away on Valentine’s Day 2004.
During these weeks, The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in
Providence, RI
provided a social worker and parent consultant to answer questions about
cancer,
treatment, insurance, emotional issues, talking to Eric’s older sisters,
and many other topics.
After Eric passed, The Tomorrow Fund continued to help us with financial
and emotional support.
We wanted to somehow give back to this wonderful organization that
helped us so much.
In Eric’s memory, the ECS Memorial Golf Tournament was created by Eric’s
uncle,
Stephen DiGiacomo. We have held this annual tournament for the past
four years and
have raised over $55,000 for The Tomorrow Fund!
This year's tournament will be held on Friday, June 27th at
The Foster Country Club. To help
defray the costs of the tournament and increase the amount of money we
can contribute to
support the mission of The Tomorrow Fund, we are asking local
businesses, family and
friends for their help.
Thank you for your participation and contribution to this worthy cause.
